Chincoteague Musician Makes American Idol Line Up

YouTube

The television show American Idol will be getting a little of Chincoteague on its stage.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that 26 year-old Dalton Elliott has appeared on stages on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland.

He is originally from Nashville but has been in the region for the last three years.

Elliot is employed as a maintenance worker at the Refuge Inn on Chincoteague.

He sang the hit “Boy” by Lee Brice for his audition in New York.

He told the paper that he was around 13 or 14 years old when one of his cousins convinced him to give up the drums for guitar.

Elliott has appeared at Ropewalk and A.J.’s on the Creek.
