Dalton Elliott Goes to Hollywood on American Idol

Twenty-six year old Dalton Elliott of Chincoteague is going to Hollywood.

His audition aired on American Idol last night with the three judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie  giving him the green light.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Richie told him that he was a master story teller while Perry cuationed not to strain his voice in singing his notes.

Perry did have some trouble, however, pronouncing Chincoteague.

Elliott has been playing at the Rope walk and AJ.'s on the Creek Restaurants as well as the Club Car Cafe in Parksley.

He is employed as a maintenance worker at the Refuge Inn in Chincoteague.

The songwriter now moves onto Hollywood Week whose episode airs on Sunday March 24th.
