Seaford Votes for Solar Array

Residents of Seaford have voted by 102 to 23 to approve $1.6 million for a new solar array that will hopefully save the resort $57-thousand a year.

WBOC reports that City Manager Delores Slatcher says that $1.1 million will be borrowed while another $500-thosuand will come from a state grant.

In addition, the city will be able to sell $62-thousand in Renewable Energy Credits.

There will also be the cost of maintenance at around $12-thousand in the first year.

The ultimate net plus for the city will be $40-thousand a year.
