Worcester County Moves Towards Setting Rental Fees

clipartbest.com

Worcester County is inching toward imposing fees for rental license fees of as much as $400 a year in unincorporated areas.

The county had approved measures earlier this year that that would allow for the fees which the county must now set.

But WBOC reports that amount has set off opposition which notes that in Salisbury the figure is only around $120 a year.

But the television station reports that the county believes its is fair and compensates for the work involved in issuing the fees.

The fees would apply to property owners that rent homes or condos for less than 28 days.

The expected revenue for the county is estimated at between $160-thousand to $240-thousand.

It is expected to impact 400 to 600 short term rental licenses a year.
