Protest Over Proposed 7-Eleven in Sussex County

7-eleven logo

A protest took place outside the Sussex County Council session yesterday.

The issue: A conditional use application for a 7-Eleven store on Route 24 and Angola Road.

The council had deferred action on the application and was not yesterday’s agenda.

But the protesters told WBOC that they believed it was important to put more pressure on the council members.

During an public hearing in mid-September many expressed their concerns about the store saying it was unneeded and unwanted by the community.

They noted that there are already 8 gas stations within 4.3 miles of the location.
