Padua Academy Parents Mull Protest Over Principal's Dismissal

Padua Academy

There were more than 250 parents and students from the Padua Academy who gathered in Greenville last night to demand the return of ousted principal Cindy Mann.

She was abruptly dismissed last Friday.

And the Wilmington News Journal reports that sparked a series of protests culminating in the meeting last night to figure out how to get her back.

In letter read by her daughter Mann said that she and the school board have faced an organization that has given “blind eyes and ears to the schools problems”.

She declared that she is a warrior and a fighter.

The paper reports that she dismissed the idea that she was suing St. Anthony’s of Padua parish and the Diocese of Wilmington for money or profit.

At the meeting it was decided to protest by showing up at Mass and other church meeting wearing pink.

The News Journal also reports that the group sent letters to the Diocese protesting Mann’s dismissal.

They also decided to withhold donations to St. Anthony’s and their home parishes.
