The negotiations seeking to reinstate Cindy Mann as principal at Padua Academy collapsed over the weekend.
That’s according to her attorney.
Her lawyer Thomas Neuberger told the Wilmington News Journal that he had submitted a plan to the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and the Diocese of Wilmington for her reinstatement.
But he said both the diocese and Oblates said no.
In his statement Neuberger said that she would have had to go through a process that included sitting before the same man who fired her along with his boss and the Oblate’s attorney.
He said he believed this was designed to “send her over the edge” while recovering from a heart attack.
The News Journal reports that there was no comment form the diocese on Sunday night.
There have been protests by students and parents demanding her reinstatement.
