There was a protest at the St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church in Wilmington on Sunday.
Those in the pews wore pink shirts to note the opposition to the abrupt dismissal of Cindy Man as head of the Padua Academy.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that students were also planning a protest today with plans to sit on the steps for most of the day.
Many say they will not return until Mann is reinstated.
Meanwhile, the president of the Board of Trustees Peter Steiner issued a letter saying that the board was not consulted or informed ahead of time about Mann’s removal.
The letter informing parents of her dismissal did not give a reason.
It said for now that Vice Principal Mary McClory would take over her duties.
