Commercial Fisherman Rescued in Chincoteague Bay

chincoteaguebay.com

A commercial fisherman was rescued yesterday morning off a marshy island after his boat capsized in the Chincoteague Bay on Saturday night.

WBOC reports that police have not yet identified him but did say that his farther and a waterman found him around 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

Authorities say his father began searching for him after he failed to return on Saturday night.

The fisherman apparently swam to the nearest island he could find when his boat capsized according to police.

He was taken to the hospital yesterday suffering from hypothermia.

But it was not believed to be life threatening.
