CRISFIELD, Md. (AP) - Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski will visit the city of Crisfield to observe recovery efforts that are ongoing in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

Mikulski, a Democrat, will be given a tour by Crisfield Mayor P.J. Purnell. Mikulski's office says 585 homes in Crisfield sustained damage as a result of the hurricane, and 71 homes had major

damage. More than 50 businesses were also affected by the storm.

Sandy blew through several states in late October and is blamed for 140 deaths and billions of dollars in residential and business property damage. Much of that damage was in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
