DOVER, Del. (AP) — A former inmate who was accused of leading a fatal riot at Delaware's maximum-security prison but acquitted on all charges is back behind bars.

Prison officials took custody of 33-year-old Roman Shankaras on Saturday after his arrest by Wilmington police.

Shankaras is charged as someone who is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition and violating probation among other counts.

He remained in custody Sunday, with cash bail set at $10,001.  Prosecutors once described Shankaras as the “mastermind”of the 2017 riot.
