Mug Shot

It was another not guilty verdict in the prison uprising trials in Delaware.

A jury returned the verdict for murder and all other charges for Roman Shankaras who was accused of planning and carrying out the 2017 riot that left prison guard Steven Floyd dead.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that he is the seventh inmate of the eight tried to be found not guilty.

He will be released in the coming days with the completion of his original sentence.

He could have faced a mandatory life sentence for Floyd’s death.

Lillian Oliver who is Shankaras’s partner told the paper that she always knew he would be coming home.

Prosecutors declined to comment.
