First State Satanists Get Spot on Georgetown Town Circle

First State Satanists Facebook Page

The First State Satanists will have their moment in the Georgetown Town Circle.

The non-theistic group will hold a candlelight vigil on December 21st to mark the Winter Solstice.

The vigil will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and invites other fellow “faithless friends” to support religious freedom and pluralism.

WBOC reports that the group is holding the demonstration in response to the live Nativity Scene that will be sponsored by the Good Ole Boy Foundation.

Foundation says it understands that there are other groups who have a right to express their beliefs on public property.

A Georgetown official confirmed to the television station that a permit has been issued for the First State Satanists.
