MILFORD, Del. (AP) - Several Delaware nonprofits will share new federal funding designed to help homebound seniors.

The Delaware State News reports that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is awarding $750,000 to a handful of local nonprofits.

The aim of the grant is to provide wellness checks and other medical services to homebound seniors who receive food from Meals on Wheels.

U.S. Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons joined local officials to announce the grant on Friday.
