Pandemic Hits Seniors Looking for Work

Bureau of Labor Statistics

The coronvirus has left many without jobs. For those over the age of 50 it will take twice as long to find a new position than younger workers. AARP notes that the Bureau of Labor Statistics found around 45% of job seekers over the age of 55 have been looking for work for six months or longer. Delmarva Public Media's Don Rush talked with AARP financial specialist Susan Weinstock about about the impact of the pandemic on older workers.

Don Rush is the News Director at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
