The Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority unveiled a new payload processing facility.
CEO and Executive Director of the agency Dale Nash compared the facility to an operating room for the spaceport on Wallops Island.
WBOC reports that the site will be used to prepare satellites and other payloads for rocket launches.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam attended yesterday’s ribbon cutting ceremony telling those in attendance that the new facility will add to the economic diversity of the state’s Eastern Shore.
Virginia Space partners with the Wallops Flight Facility that operates and owns the Mid-Atlantic Spaceport.
