Hillary May was crowned Miss Delaware 2019 during a ceremony at the Cape Henlopen High School on Saturday.
During the event Miss Hockessin said that she wanted to bring awareness to the stigma of mental illness.
Her talent was singing.
On her Facebook page she praised her competitors, describing them as smart, talented and loving.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that she bested Miss Greenville Nia Andrews who was first runner up.
Second runner up was Miss New Castle Selena Barnett while Miss Blue Gold Victoria Muir was third runner up.
Miss Wilmington Kaylynn Pride was fourth runner up.
