The Time Might Change in Delaware

creative commons

Delaware lawmakers are looking at ending  the change to daylight saving time.

The measure has advanced in the Senate after clearing a 17-to-4 vote in favor the change.

But, the First State would only do so if neighboring states like Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey did the same.

WBOC reports that Senate President Pro Tem David McBride said that Delawareans were “…sick of literally losing sleep.”

He adds that,”…people are fed up with darkness before 6 p.m.”

The measure would allow the state to ask the federal government to move into east into the neighboring Atlantic Standard Time Zone.

This is also a movement felt nationwide with a number of states considering such measures.
