Gary Weber has been elected to become the next Mayor of Snow Hill winning with 225 votes over his two rivals Richard Thompson with 135 votes and Cartherine Freeman with 54 votes.
He replaces Steve Matthews who had been serving on an interim basis after Charlie Dorman stepped down last October.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that incumbent LaToya Purnell won reelection in the Western Council District over Mark Nixon – 79 votes to 48 votes.
The results could be affected by 31 absentee ballots yet to be counted and 19 provisional ballots that must be reviewed.
Finally, Melisa Wiedner beat out incumbent Jenny Hall in the Central Council District by a vote of 199 to 48.
