Mayor Jake Day will kick off his bid for another term as Salisbury’s chief executive.
The event will take place in the downtown area that has been under renovation and development under his plans to revitalize the center of the city.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Day is expected to tout the creation of 25-hundred new jobs and the replacement of the aging water and sewer lines on Main Street.
Meanwhile, Day is overseeing the overhaul of the Riverwalk and has attracted the National Folk Festival with the second year’s event slated for early next month.
Kickoff will take place at 5 p.m. in the Downtown Plaza with a fundraiser at Roadie Joes from 5 to 6 p.m.
