Explosion Heard in Claymont

An explosion rocked Claymont late last night.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that an official with the New Castle County fire board said a loud explosion was heard around 10:40 p.m.

It occurred in the 300 block on Governor’s Printz Boulevard.

The official added the caller said the explosion shook their house.

The paper reports that there are reports of at least one person was taken to the hospital.

Police have been on the scene near a Claymont auto body shop.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the incident.
