Explosion at Delaware City Refinery Injures Three

An explosion at the Delaware City Refinery sent three men to a local hospital for burns.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the explosion occurred during equipment maintenance at around 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the company told the paper that the three were contractors but did not say how they had been injured.

The three were taken to Christiana Hospital’s burn unit and then later to Crozer Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.

One was admitted in critical condition while a second experience burns on his face and neck but was listed in stable condition.

The third victim sustained burns to his feet and is also in stable.
