Superintendent Dr. Donna Hanlin found herself reassuring parents that the Wicomico County Public Schools were safe.
WBOC reports that the statement comes after an increasing number of fights at the Salisbury Middle School.
She urged parent to join students to make sure they know of their role in confidentially reporting any safety concerns to school officials.
She added that parents need to “reinforce appropriate behavior” in addition to supporting school discipline when it is required.
