Delaware Senator Troubled by Kavanaugh Hearing

official photo

Senator Chris Coons says he is disturbed by the reaction that boys will be boys to testimony against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The Senate Judiciary Committee heard a dramatic account from Christine Blasey Ford who said that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while drinking heavily when they were in high school.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the Delaware Democrat praised Ford for coming forward noting that it came at great personal cost.

He also noted that she had borne the memory of the alleged attack alone.

When examining Kavaugh Coons quoted a former college friend Liz Swisher who told the Washington Post that he had been a sloppy drunk sometimes slurring his words.

Kavanaugh replied that she did not cite a specific instance.

Kavaugh has denied that he sexually assaulted Ford but added he believed something did happen to her.
