There was an atlercation last night ending the boys’ basketball playoff game with just four minutes to go between Smyrna and Cape Henlopen.

The disturbance occurred when a Cape Henlopen player got into an altercation with a fan sitting behind the Viking’s bench at the Milford Central Academy gymnasium.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the Milford police department says five officers were working the game and immediately responded to the altercation.

The paper reports that authorities say more officers were brought and that it took at least four minutes to restore order when dozens of spectators came onto the court.

At least one spectator was handcuffed and detained by police.

The police department said the incident was still investigating the incident.
