creative commons

Milton has announced designated parking spots outside its library and municipal park for Purple Heart veterans.

It’s part of a larger program called the Purple Heart Trail.

John Jackson with the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1787 told WBOC that Milton is the first town that he knows of that has done this in the state of Delaware.

Jackson said that there are highways, universities and towns across the nation who are participating in the program.

Milton Town Manager Kristy Rogers the sign designating the parking spot did not cost anything but is “absolutely priceless”.
