creative commons

Five people have been rescued off Cape Charles in Northampton County.

The Coast Guard picked them via helicopter after their fishing vessel sank in rough waters yesterday.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that two crew members were found in a life raft while three others were holding on to a piece of the wreckage.

The vessel sank about 60 miles off east of Cape Charles.

They were taken to Base Elizabeth City where they were seen by medical personnel.
