AstraZeneca May Not Leave Delaware Facility

AstraZeneca may be putting its Fairfax property up for sale but it is considering leasing it back from the new owner.

That’s according to sources familiar with the deal cited by the Wilmington News Journal

The land went up for sale earlier this week.

An official with the company told the paper that the company is looking at all options for the property including redevelopment.

In May at the time of the announcement that it was moving out of the property the company still said it intended to stay in the state of Delaware.

New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon and others have said that since the company was closing an office in another part of the country the firm was expected to renovate the Fairfax facility.

The company has around 21-hundred employees at facilities in Fairfax and Newark.
