CAPE CHARLES, Va. (AP) - Authorities searching for a 15-year-old boy who disappeared in the water while swimming off Cape Charles have recovered a body.

Media outlets report that the body of Alvaro Lopez-Castaneda was recovered Monday afternoon near the Cape Charles fishing pier.

The Coast Guard had said in a news release a man near the pier told police on Sunday evening that he was in the water with the teenager struggling against a current.

Cape Charles Police Chief Jim Pruitt tells media outlets that family members said the teenager didn't swim well.
