The Rehoboth Art League will be expanding by using a new satellite facility with an artist space, classroom and a gallery off U.S. Route 9 near Lewes.
The plans were unveiled last night at the league’s Henlopen Acres site.
Art League executive director Sheila Bravo said that the new facility will be big enough for extensive and innovative programming that will not fit into the Henlopen Acres headquarters.
The announcement follows months of meetings between officials from the Art League and Henlopen officials and residents.
At one point talks between the league and the town appeared to be stalled.
But over the last several months the league and town residents met 11 times to resolve the issues.
