emergencyvehiclespecialists.com

A Pocomoke City police officer charges he endured racial discrimination and harassment when he was part of the Worcester County Criminal Enforcement Team.

Franklin Savage is African American and served for two years on the team which investigates drug crimes.

Savage says the harassment included the use of the n-word as well as a racially hostile work environment.

WBOC reports that he filed a complaint in July with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission which charges the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office with discrimination based on race as well as retaliation.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s office released a statement saying that it became aware of his charges from his resignation letter.. and encouraged him to file a formal complaint with the Sheriff’s Department.

The Department says a complaint was never filed.

The release also said that Savage declined to be interview for the investigation.

Savage says he declined to speak with Internal Affairs out of fear.
