Former Pocomoke City Manager Sues Over Firing

official photo

Former Pocomoke City manager Bobby Cowger is suing the town.

He claims that the city violated its charter and failed to pay him the rest of his salary when he was fired in June.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports suit says that the council failed to follow the charter when the council voted 3-to-1 to fire him in a closed door session.

Cowger claims that during this session it also illegally seated council member Scott Holland.

The paper reports that the city’s attorney Robin Cockey was not available for comment but told the Daily Times in June that the town would seek to mediate the dispute.
