A conciliation agreement has been reached in a gender discrimination case at Sysco Corporation locations that included Pocomoke City.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the Texas based company is will shell out just over $182-thousand in back wages, interest and benefits.

The case focused on four facilities and 238 women applicants for “outbound selector positions”.

Sysco will also offer 60 jobs to the original applicants as the positions become available.

The cities involved include Jessup and Pocomoke City in Maryland, Harrisburg in Pennsylvania and Harrisonburg in Virginia.

For its part Sysco said it believes there was no evidence of discrimination but worked with investigators to close out the audits.
