Realignment of Northbound Lanes on Troubled I-495 Bridge Next Week

Don Rush

Work crews will begin jacking operations for the tilted northbound deck on the trouble l-495 bridge across the Christina River next week.

The realignment should take around five days to complete.

That’s two more than it took to re-open the southbound lanes two weeks ago.

Javier Torrijos with the Delaware Department of Transportation told the Wilmington News Journal that the operation is a bit more complicated for the northbound deck.

DelDOT hopes to re-open the northbound lanes between Exits 2 and 3 by Labor Day.
