Delaware Route 1 and I-95 Flyover Reopens

creative commons

The northbound Delaware Route 1 and I-95 flyover near Christiana has been reopened avoiding morning rush hour congestion.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the northbound lanes and the I-95 flyover were closed for around seven hours yesterday after equipment being hauled by a tractor-trailer hit the underside of the interstate’s overpasses.

The truck was carrying a large modular power substation.

The falling debris hit a Wolkwagen.

Police say that both 79-year old James Botts and a 77-year old woman passenger in the car as well as the truck driver were property restrained.

But the accident is still under investigation.
