Sussex County Defers Zoning Decison on 7-Eleven

The Sussex County Council has put off a vote on plans to build a 7-11 on Route 24 and Angola Road for another two months.

KH Sussex LLC has applied for a conditional use permit that would allow the store to be built.

WBOC reports that the applicant Kirk Salvo believes that the store would be a good fit for the area.

But some neighbors have expressed concerns about the impact on traffic congestion and emergency access as well as the potential to affect the wetlands and a Tidewater well head.

The company has responded by saying they believe they have put in place enough safeguards so that the gas tanks would not contaminate the ground.
