PBF Energy website

DELAWARE CITY, Del. (AP) - Delaware officials say a power outage caused a pollution release at the PBF Energy refinery near Delaware City.

The News Journal reports that Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control say the release happened sometime Thursday morning.

Officials say the release includes sulfur dioxide, a pollutant linked to acid rain, smog and toxic soot.
