The Delaware City Refining Company has been ordered to pay $70-thousand for air pollution violations that spanned some months.
The Wilmington News Journal reports this includes last year’s February fire that resulted in more than 6-thousand pounds of pollutants being released into the air.
Those pollutants include sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulfide which can be hazardous to one’s health if inhaled.
The newspaper reports that Monday’s settlement covers pollution emissions between November of 2018 and June of last year.
