Robert Bloxom was sworn in yesterday after winning a seat to Virginia’s House of Delegates representing that state’s Eastern Shore.
The Republican beat out Northampton County Democrat Willie Randall with 60 percent of the vote – 68-hundred votes to around 44-hundred.
Bloxom is no stranger to elective office.
This is the same seat his father held for 26 years before becoming Virginia’s first secretary of agriculture.
For his Democratic opponent it was a tough four months after Randall lost his seat last November on the Northampton County Board of Supervisors.
