Deadline Looms to Get Vote on Water Contamination Plan In Wicomico County

Don Rush

The December 2nd deadline is approaching for homeowners in the Morris Mill and Colbourne Woods subdivisions to file a petition to force a vote on a Wicomico County plan that would require all of the homes affected by water contamination to be hooked up to the Fruitland system.

In order to get state funding for the plan every home has to be hooked up whether the water has tested positive or not for the chemical TCE.

The petition requires enough signatures from homeowners to represent 20 percent of assess property value in the area.
