Students at Concord High School in Brandywine Hundred are having their backpacks and book bags searched this morning.
In addition, state police will have extra troopers at the school.
Superintendent Mark Holodick tells WDEL that there were – what he described as – threatening, offensive, vulgar and demeaning messages and pictures posted on the school’s website’s learning platform.
Those parents who decide to keep their children home out of concern for their safety should send a note for an excused absence.
The incident follows a threatening note left in an administrator’s mailbox at George Read Middle School in New Castle within the last week.
The Colonial School District was put on high alert in that case and security was tightened.
No arrests were made.
