Former Crisfield Police Chief Arrested

A former Crisfield Police Chief has been arrested in connection with thefts from vehicles at an auto repair business.

58 year old Norman Swift who quit 23 years ago after facing criminal charges is now facing counts that range from theft and destruction of property to two counts of illegal possession of firearms.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the police say Swift is accused of breaking the window of a truck and stealing some of its contents that were valued at nearly $15-hundred.

He was held on $25-thousand bond.
