The case against former Crisfield Police Chief Norman Swift has been put into the inactive file after being scheduled for trial.
Swift was arrested in connection with a fire on March 30th in the Marion woods area.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the court papers say that members of the Crisfield Fire Department followed him there and saw him near the blaze.
An assistant state’s attorney told the paper that there were a number of conditions for the decision to put the case on the inadequate docket.
Attorney John Phoebus, Swift’s attorney, told the Daily Times that they were not allowed to say what the conditions were.
