Former Crisfield Police Chief Faces More Charges

crisfield police department

Former Crisfield police Norman Swift is facing more charges after being arrested for theft.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for his house and truck and discovered power tools that had been missing from Tidewater trucking where he had worked.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that a revolver was also uncovered at Swift’s home in Marion Station.

Two counts of theft of less than a thousand dollars were added to the charges he was arrested on September 16th.

The 58 year old Swift was previously charged with theft, destruction of property and two counts of illegal gun possession.

Swift resigned his job as Crisfield police chief in 1990 after he was charged with starting a fire in 1987 that destroyed most of a square block of the downtown area.
