The Dead Dolphin Count Rises in New Jersey

creative commons wikimedia

More dolphins washed ashore yesterday in New Jersey.

They were found the breaches at Island Beach State Park and Stone Harbor as well as in Cape May County.

The total for the Garden State is 71 since July 9th.

More than 230 dead dolphins have been reported from New Jersey to Virginia.

Officials are not certain what is killing them but one possibility is a naturally occurring virus.
