NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark police are increasing patrols this weekend for St. Patrick's Day festivities.

WDEL Radioreports the department is expecting many University of Delaware students to celebrate this weekend. So police plan to increase the number of uniformed and plain clothes officers deployed in Newark's business district and areas with student housing.

Police spokesman Lt. Mark Farrall says the city's police department is teaming up with officers from the university to respond to complaints on Sunday.
