TB Shows Up At James M. Bennet High School

Becker, Morgan Group

A student at James M. Bennett High School has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Students and employees were notified yesterday by Wicomico County School Superintendent John Frederickson and the district is offering testing for disease to students and staff.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the affected student has not been identified but is under medical care.

TB is normally contract at least 8 hours after close contact in a small room with the infected person.

The air is only contagious when the untreated person is actually present.
