Wesley College could be getting some help from the state soon.

The Higher Education Economic Development Investment Committee gave its okay to providing public funds to the liberal arts college.

But only on the condition that it the money is used on an as-needed base along with weekly reports to school officials.

In addition, the college must sign a definitive agreement with another institution.

School officials have said that they are seeking to merge with another institution.

WBOC reports the same committee approve $2 million last year to help the school qualify for federal funds.
