Punkin Chunkin Looking to Return to Delmarva

punkin chunkin website

The World Championship Punkin Chunkin event is looking to return to Delmarva.

It moved to Illinois where the liability protections were better.

But the Salisbury Daily Times reports that it drew less than 15 thousand people over two days.

At its height in Sussex County it pulled in 100-thousand.

But Delaware is not the only state that would be in contention.

It would also consider Maryland and Virginia with enough space to contain the pumpkins that can fly more than 5-thousand feet.

The event incurred problems when a lawsuit was filed by a woman in 2017 against the property owner and the association over a mishap but was finally dismissed.

The event was not held the following year.
