Pocomoke City Manager Resigns

Greenboro

Pocomoke City Manager Jeannette DeLude has quit after just nine days on the job.

The resignation comes after pressure from local NAACP chapters and The Coalition for Justice for Anton Black demanded that she step down.

WBOC reports that her decision also comes after a contentious public meeting about her appointment.

DeLude was city manager in Greensboro when 19 -year-old Black died after an altercation with Officer Thomas Webster.

The medical examiner concluded that Webster contributed to his death.

Three years earlier while at the Dover Police Department Webster was arrested for kicking an unarmed suspect.

He was acquitted but left that department.
